Three stages, three moments was initiated as a video project during the 2010 Tour de France but ended up as a series of digital photographic stills.
The intention was to film 3 quite different moments from the tour. What became apparent when looking at the digital footage at the editing stage, was that actually the moments presented fascinating still images. Frame-by-frame forensic analysis revealed repeating motifs that became the focus of the visual series, moments that would have been lost in a cinematic presentation. And so a different series of work manifested itself, a series of uncomfortably cropped body parts, links, reflections and bleached and slightly disturbing narratives.
